Benelli’s parent company, OJMotor is developing multiple new bikes on existing Benelli’s for the Chinese market. A new 500cc fully-faired sportbike has been spotted, which is expected to be based on the Benelli Leoncino.
The motorcycle is expected to feature the 500cc parallel twin engine that already powers the TRK 502 adventure bike, the Leoncino neo-retro roadster and the 502C power cruiser. This engine will soon power a new fully-faired sportbike.
In terms of styling, the new motorcycle shares styling cues from the QJMotor SRG 600 or Benelli 600RR. The bike gets prominent front fascia with chiselled faring and muscular fuel tank. The motorcycle features a comfortable riding position with wider seats, high-set clip on handlebars and mid-set foot pegs.
The new motorcycle is expected to be powered by the 500cc parallel-twin engine that churns out 47.5bhp of power and 46Nm of torque. It is reported that Benelli is working on giving a bigger displacement engine, a 550cc unit to the Leoncino. This will result an increase in power by 3.4bhp. It is expected that the upgraded engine could power the OJMotor’s fully-faired sports bike.
The motorcycle gets an upside down front fork and monoshock unit at the rear. It gets twin disc brakes up front. The motorcycle gets 17-inch alloy wheels. The fully-faired bike has split headlamp setup, which is similar to the other fully-faired motorcycles of OJMotor.
