5 New Mahindra SUVs To Be Launched In 2021- New Bolero

In order to regain lost market share, Mahindra & Mahindra is now readying a wide range of new SUVs for the Indian market. The company is also developing the petrol-powered Marazzo MPV, which has been caught testing multiple times. Mahindra will launch 5 new SUVs in the Indian market in 2021, and here’s the list –

1. XUV300 Sportz

Mahindra will launch the sportier and more powerful version of the XUV300 compact SUV in the first half of 2021. Likely to be called the Mahindra XUV300 Sportz, the new SUV will receive a new 1.2-litre turbo-petrol direct-injection (TGDI) engine. The XUV300 Sportz was first unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo. This engine churns out a maximum power output of 130bhp and a peak torque of 230Nm. It will initially be offered with a manual gearbox; however, the automatic version will join the line-up at a later stage.

2. New XUV500

Mahindra will launch the next generation XUV500 mid-sized SUV in the second quarter of 2021. The production version of the SUV is likely to be revealed in February 2021. The new XUV500 will grow in size, offering more space inside the cabin. The SUV will be based on the new front-wheel-drive monocoque platform, which will also underpin the Ford C-SUV. The new model is expected to be offered in 6 and 7-seat configurations. It will come with Mercedes-inspired instrument panel and touchscreen infotainment system. Adding to it, the  SUV will also receive ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System). The SUV will come equipped with Autonomous Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Front Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning and Park Assist.

It will get factory fitted panoramic sunroof, LED lighting system, climate control, powered front seats, cruise control, connected car technology, wireless charging, leather upholstery, ESP, traction control and others. It will come with a new 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine with power output close to 180bhp. The petrol version will get a 190bhp, 2.0-litre turbocharged engine. Both manual and automatic versions will be on offer.

3. New Scorpio

Mahindra will launch the new generation Scorpio in mid-2021, before Diwali. The new model will be based on the modified version of the ladder-frame-chassis, which also underpins the new Thar. The new model will be bigger and more upmarket than the outgoing SUV. It will receive a factory-fitted sunroof, touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, digital instrument console, automatic AC and others.

It will be powered by a new 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine, which is likely to offer around 158bhp of power. The SUV will also receive a 152bhp, 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that also powers the new Thar. Transmission options are likely to include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.

4. TUV300 facelift

Mahindra is readying the facelifted versions of the TUV300 and the TUV300 Plus, which have already been spotted testing multiple times. The spy images reveal that the TUV300 facelift will have revised front fascia; however, the overall profile will remain the same. It gets new honeycomb mesh grille with six vertical slats, new bumper with rectangular fog lamps, revised air-dam and re-positioned LED DRLs. The facelifted Mahindra TUV300 will receive the BSVI-compliant 1.5L, 3-cylinder turbo-diesel engine with 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options. In the BS4 avatar, this engine produces 100bhp and 240Nm of torque.

5. New Bolero

Mahindra is reportedly working on the new-gen Bolero SUV, which is expected to be launched in the end of 2021. The new model is likely to be based on a new-age ladder-frame chassis, which will also underpins the new Thar. It will retain the rugged boxy and upright design; however, the new Bolero will more modern and will have a better equipped interior. It is likely to be powered by a new 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine, which also powers the new Thar. While powering the Thar, this engine produces 130bhp and 300Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic gearbox options are likely to be on offer.
