Maruti Suzuki has been aggressive with its product strategy for the fast growing Indian market. The company had launched multiple new products including the new Baleno, new Brezza, new Alto K10 and the Grand Vitara in the country in 2022. These models have received overwhelming response from car buyers and have helped Maruti Suzuki to regain some of the lost market share.
The company has recently introduced the new Fronx crossover in the Indian market. In order to further boost sales, MSIL is now planning to launch multiple new products before the end of this financial year –
Maruti Suzuki Jimny
Maruti Suzuki had showcased the 5-door Jimny lifestyle SUV at the 2023 Auto Expo. The new model has already reached NEXA dealerships for customer preview. It is based on the rugged ladder-on-frame chassis that also underpins the Jimny Sierra 3-door model on sale in global markets. Maruti Suzuki engineers have increased the wheelbase of the SUV by around 300mm to create more space in the second-row.
The 5-door Maruti Suzuki Jimny will be offered in two trim levels – Zeta and Alpha. Both variants will be powered by a tried & tested 1.5-litre K15B 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 103PS and 134Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque convertor automatic. It gets Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro 4×4 drivetrain with a low-range gearbox.
Launch – End of May or Early June
Expected Price – Rs 10-15 lakh
Maruti Suzuki Engage – New MPV
Maruti Suzuki will introduce its re-engineered version of the Toyota Innova Hycross in our market by festive season, before Diwali. It is reported to be called the Maruti Suzuki Engage, as the name has been registered in our market. The 7-seater MPV will be the most expensive Maruti in our market and will be retailed through NEXA outlets. The MPV will receive design changes in terms of new front and rear design, while the cabin will receive a new colour scheme. The MPV will be offered with a 2.0L naturally-aspirated petrol and a 2.0-litre petrol-hybrid engine.
Launch – Festive Season
Expected Price – Rs 19 lakh – 30 lakh
New Maruti Swift
Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch the new gen Swift hatchback in our market early next year. Before India, the new Swift is expected to be unveiled in Japan this year. The new Swift will be based on the modified HEARTECT platform that underpins the new Baleno hatchback. If reports are to be believed, the hatchback will come with a stylish exterior with rounded edges and aggressive lines. The cabin will receive significant changes and will share the features with the Baleno hatchback. If reports are to be believed, the new Swift will come with a strong hybrid powertrain. It is likely to get a 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol engine with Toyota’s strong hybrid tech. This model is expected to offer a fuel efficiency of around 35-40kmpl.
Launch – By Early 2024
Expected Price – Rs 6.5 lakh – 12 lakh
New Maruti Dzire
Similar to the new Swift, the Dzire will also receive a new generation model in 2024. The new model is likely to share most of the features and interior with the Swift hatchback. The sedan will receive significant design changes along with a new strong hybrid powertrain. It will receive a 1.2L dualjet petrol engine with manual and AMT. The sedan is also likely to get a strong hybrid powertrain.
Launch – By Early 2024
