Mahindra & Mahindra aims to further expand its SUV product portfolio in coming years. This year, the home-grown automaker will launch the new-generation Scorpio and XUV300 facelift along with unveiling three new electric SUV concepts. While the updated Mahindra XUV300 is expected to arrive towards the end of 2022, the new Scorpio is reported to debut in June. The company has confirmed that its new electric SUV concepts will have world premiere in July 2022. Here’re key details of the upcoming new Mahindra SUVs.
2022 Mahindra Scorpio
We have seen the new-generation Scorpio in multiple spy images and videos. Though, most of the test mules were heavily or semi-camouflaged revealing a few interesting design and interior details. The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio will be bigger than the current generation and have more feature-packed and spacious cabin to offer. Significant changes will be made to its exterior as well. Under the hood, the SUV is reported to feature the 2.0L turbo petrol (130bhp/160bhp) and 2.2L turbo diesel (155bhp) engines with the manual and automatic gearbox options. The range-topping trims will be exclusively offered with the drive modes, terrain modes and 4X4 drivetrain system.
New Mahindra Electric SUVs
The home-grown automaker has already released a few teaser images of its upcoming electric SUV concepts ahead of their global debut in July 2022. All models have been designed by the brand’s UK-based MADE (Mahindra Advance Design Europe) division. The teaser images reveal that the new Mahindra electric SUVs will feature C-shaped LED DRLs, a coupe-like roofline and aerodynamic body panels. While official details of the new Mahindra SUVs will be revealed in coming months, the models are likely to be equipped with ADAS and dual HD displays. The lineup is likely to include the electric version of the XUV300 and XUV700 SUVs and the all-new XUV900 coupe SUV.
