7-Seater Creta Side Spied

Hyundai has started testing the 7-seater version of the Creta SUV in India. Rumoured to be called the Alcazar, the new 7-seater SUV is expected to be launched in mid-2021 before Diwali. The new model will rival the new Mahindra XUV500, Tata Safari and the MG Hector Plus. The new Hyundai Alcazar will ride on longer wheelbase, and will be longer than the 5-seater model. It is likely to feature 20mm longer wheelbase and 30mm longer body, which should help Hyundai engineers to add 3rd row of seats.

The SUV will also receive some design changes in the form of new chrome-studded front grille, flatter roof, longer rear overhangs, bigger glass rear behind the C-pillar, flatter rear profile, new tail-lamps, revised bumper and a steeper new tailgate. The new Hyundai Alcazar is expected to be offered in 6-and 7-seat options. While the six-seater model will have captain seats for the second row, the 7-seater model will have bench-type 60:40 split seats in the second row.

The upcoming 7-seater SUV is likely to be offered with two engine options – a 113bhp, 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel and a 138bhp, 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol. The vehicle is not likely to receive the 113bhp, 1.5L naturally-aspirated petrol engine. It is likely to be priced around Rs 13 lakh to Rs 18 lakh.

The new model is expected to be priced somewhere around Rs 9 lakh to Rs 14 lakh. It will be based on the new Creta’s platform. Not just platform, the 7-seater MPV is likely to share the engine options and features from the Creta.

The new Hyundai MPV is expected to be offered with 6 and 7-seats configurations. It’s likely to come equipped with flexible interior with sliding seats and decent cabin space. The new MPV could be offered with two engine options – a 113bhp, 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol and a 113bhp, 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel. It will rival the Mahindra Marazzo and the Maruti Suzuki XL6.

Hyundai Palisade

Hyundai Palisade SUV 8-seater

Korean automaker, Hyundai is considering the Palisade full-sized SUV for the Indian market. The new model has recently been launched in Indonesia. The Hyundai Palisade was originally planned for North American markets; however, the rising demand for SUVs prompted Hyundai to bring this product in other right-hand-drive markets as well. In terms of proportions, the flagship Hyundai SUV is 4,980mm in length, 1,975mm in width and 1,750mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,900mm. The Palisade is available as 7- and 8-seater SUV, which will rival the MG Gloster.

The new Palisade will be powered by a 2.2-litre CRDi 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that churns out 197bhp of power and 440Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The SUV offers 4 drive modes – COMFORT, ECO, SPORT, SMART and 3 terrain modes – SNOW, MUD and SAND.
