3 SUV Launches In October – Expected Prices, Details

2021 festive season will begin with Navratri on 7th October. Several new car launches have been planned for the next month and interestingly most of them are SUVs. Here’re expected prices and details of the upcoming top 3 new SUVs (Tata Punch, MG Astor and Mahindra XUV700) that will arrive next month.

Tata Punch

Tata Punch Micro SUV

Tata Punch is surely one of the biggest new car launches of this year. Unofficial bookings have already been commenced at select dealerships ahead of its market launch. The Punch will be the first micro SUV from the home-grown carmaker in the country. Its production model looks similar to the HBX concept that was previewed at the 2020 Auto Expo. The Punch will be packed with several segment-first features including traction modes, hill start and decent control. The mini SUV will come with 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol and 1.2L turbocharged petrol engines delivering 85bhp and 100bhp respectively. Both manual and AMT gearboxes will be on offer. The upcoming Tata mini SUV is likely to cost from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom).

MG Astor

MG Astor Launch Date

The upcoming Astor will be MG’s answer to the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Skoda Kushaq. It’s the most powerful and feature-packed SUV in its segment. The automaker has confirmed that the Astor will come with the 1.3L turbo and 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engines pushing out maximum power of 138bhp with 220Nm and 110bhp with 144Nm respectively. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed automatic and an 8-speed CVT automatic. The Astor is the first car in its category to offer ADAS (advanced driver assistance system), a personal AI assistant system, heated ORVMs and more. It’s estimated to be priced Rs 11 lakh for the base model and Rs 16 lakh for the top-end variant.

Mahindra XUV700

Mahindra XUV700 Variants

Mahindra XUV700 5/7-seater SUV will go sale in the month of October. Prices of its 5-seater variants start from Rs 11.99 lakh and go up to Rs 14.99 lakh (all, ex-showroom). The carmaker has confirmed that the SUV model lineup will be spread across 34 variants, packed with the segment’s most powerful 200bhp, 2.0L turbo petrol and 185bhp, 2.2L mHawk diesel engines. Both motors can be had with manual or automatic gearbox. The diesel unit is exclusively offered with four driving modes – Zip, Zap, Zoom and Custom. Mahindra claims that the XUV700 has several first and best-in-segment features including AdrenoX technology with 60+ connected apps, smart pilot assist, auto booster headlamps, ADAS, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 7 airbags and many more. The Mahindra XUV700 7-seater is expected to come in the price range of Rs 13 lakh – Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).
