Tata Motors is preparing a wide range of new products for the Indian market. We reported earlier that the company is developing the next-gen Nexon and the Tiago hatchback. In fact, the 2024 Tata Nexon has been spotted testing for the first time on public roads. The spotted model was covered in thick cloth; however, it still reveals key design changes.
The 2024 Tata Nexon retains the original silhouette; however, it comes with thoroughly revised front and rear-end styling. The new model will also receive all-new interior, features and powertrains. It is expected to be launched sometime in 2024. The new Nexon will rival the likes of the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza and the Mahindra XUV300.
In terms of styling, the 2024 Tata Nexon comes with completely revised front and rear profile. It has connected LED daytime running lamps and headlights, which are now placed on the bumper. The new model shares the styling cues from the new Curvv and the Harrier EV concepts, which were unveiled at Auto Expo 2023.
The report claims that the 2024 Tata Nexon SUV will come with a freestanding touchscreen infotainment system. The current model comes with a centre-mounted, 7-inch infotainment unit. It is likely to receive an all-new dashboard and central console with a fully digital instrument console. It will offer a factory-fitted electric sunroof, ventilated seats, six airbags, automatic AC and others.
The 2024 Tata Nexon is likely to be powered by a more powerful 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine, which was introduced at the 2023 Auto Expo. This engine will also power the Curvv Concept based SUV. It will be compliant with the upcoming BS6 Phase two emission norms as well as ethanol-blended E20 fuel. This engine is capable of producing 125PS of power at 5,000rpm and a peak torque of 225Nm between 1700-3500rpm. It is expected to be offered with a 6-speed manual and a dual-clutch automatic gearbox options.
