2024 New Kia Sonet – ADAS, New Driver’s Display & More

Kia India is gearing up to unveil the highly anticipated new Sonet facelift on December 14, 2023. In a bid to build excitement among potential buyers, the automaker has been releasing a series of teasers, unveiling intriguing details about the upcoming subcompact SUV. While the exterior enhancements are subtle, the major upgrades are set to transform the cabin experience.

The latest teaser highlights the 2024 new Kia Sonet facelift, showcasing new features such as redesigned LED headlamps, reminiscent of the updated Seltos, and updated LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs). The front bumper has undergone revision, maintaining the integrity of the horizontally-mounted fog lamp assembly.

Undoubtedly, the standout feature of the new Sonet will be the introduction of Level 1 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) technology. This will include forward collision avoidance assistance and warning, lane-keeping assist, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, high beam assist, and more. The standard safety kit will incorporate six airbags, while higher trims will enjoy additional features such as hill start assist, cornering lamps, rear camera, a tire pressure monitoring system, and electronic stability control. The teaser further reveals that the 2024 new Kia Sonet will enhance the in-cabin experience with a Bose music system available exclusively on higher trims. The subcompact SUV will adopt a new digital instrument cluster borrowed from the updated Seltos. The central focus will be on a generously-sized 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, complemented by a new small display for showcasing climate control details. A row of toggles for the information system will be conveniently situated adjacent to it. A recent sighting of the test mule confirms the introduction of new brown seat upholstery and a rear seat armrest.

Under the hood, the Sonet facelift remains consistent, retaining the 83bhp, 1.2L petrol, 120bhp, 1.0L turbo petrol, and 116bhp, 1.5L diesel engines. The naturally aspirated petrol motor will be paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox, while the turbo petrol and diesel engines will feature the 6-speed iMT unit. The turbo-petrol variant will offer a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, and the diesel unit will be exclusively paired with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
