Mercedes-Benz has officially confirmed the release date of the updated GLA SUV and AMG GLE 53 Coupe in India, scheduled for January 31, 2024. The launch event in Delhi will reveal the prices for both models. The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLA and GLE 53 Coupe facelifts will feature subtle styling improvements and a few upgraded features, while maintaining the engine setups from the pre-facelift versions. The majority of cosmetic enhancements on the GLA will be concentrated at the front, including a redesigned grille, new LED headlamps, and a revised bumper. Plastic trims on the wheel arches and an updated rear bumper will further contribute to the SUV’s refreshed appearance. Inside the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLA facelift, an upgraded MBUX infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity will be complemented by ambient lighting. The GLA will continue to be powered by the existing 1.3L turbo petrol and 2.0L diesel engines, producing 163bhp and 190bhp, respectively.
The design alterations for the Mercedes-Benz AMG GLE 53 Coupe and the GLA are expected to be similar, particularly at the front end. The GLE 53 Coupe, with its swooping roofline and the distinctive 53 moniker, will be equipped with a 3.0L turbo petrol engine featuring 48V mild hybrid technology. This setup will generate an impressive 429bhp. The sports coupe-SUV will be equipped with a 9-speed automatic gearbox and Mercedes-Benz’s 4Matic system. Similar to the current model, the updated version is anticipated to accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 5.3 seconds.
Regarding pricing, the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLA is estimated to start at around Rs 45 lakh for the base variant and Rs 49 lakh for the top-end variant. Meanwhile, the Mercedes AMG GLE 53 Coupe is expected to be priced at nearly Rs 1.3 crore.
