Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the all-new Swift hatchback in the Indian market. As per industry insiders, the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift will go on sale in the second half of 2024. The India-bound model has already been introduced in the UK with a 1.2L 3-cylinder petrol engine with 12V mild-hybrid system. The same powertrain setup could be offered with the India-spec model when it launches in the next few months.
2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift Engine Specs
The new hatch would be equipped with a 1.2L three-cylinder petrol engine with a 12V mild hybrid system which will churn out top power of 81 bhp and peak torque of 112 Nm. The transmission choices offered with the UK-spec model are 5-speed manual and CVT automatic unit. In addition, the 2024 Swift is available with a 4WD system apart from the standard 2WD system. The India-bound model is not expected to feature the CVT gearbox and 4WD system.
2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift Mileage
The standard variant, consisting of the 1.2L engine with 5-speed manual gearbox will return a staggering fuel efficiency of 27.29kmpl. The automatic variant witnesses a little drop in mileage at 25.55kmpl followed by the AWD variant which delivers 24.49 kmpl. Expect the fuel economy of India-spec 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift around 27-28kmpl, which will make it the most fuel efficient hatchback in the country.
2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift Acceleration
The entry-level variant with 1.2L petrol engine and 5-speed manual unit touches the 100kmph mark from standstill in 12.5 secs before topping out at 166kmph. The automatic variant does the 0-100kmph sprint in 11.9 secs while clocking a top speed of 170kmph. Last but not the least, the 4WD variant will accelerate from 0-100kmph in 13.6 secs while having a top speed of 159kmph.
2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift Price in India
The current-gen Swift is priced from Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom) in the Indian market. However, the 2024 model is expected to come at a premium of Rs 50,000-70,000 over the present model due to the introduction of new powertrain setup and additional features like ADAS.
