2024 Bajaj Chetak Urbane Launched With New Features – Rs 1.15 Lakh

Having undergone a revival, Bajaj Auto has reintroduced the Chetak Urbane electric scooter in the Indian market, showcasing several enhancements from its previous iteration. The 2024 Bajaj Chetak EV encompasses a series of updates to appeal costumers. Bajaj has officially listed the new Chetak Urbane on its website with a price tag of Rs. 1,15,001, while the 2023 Chetak Premium is priced at Rs. 1,15,000 (both prices are ex-showroom, Maharashtra).

Visually, the 2024 Bajaj Chetak Urbane retains the original aesthetic as we have seen in the Premium trim. Upfront, it carries a circular LED headlight. Retro design elements such as contoured body panels, a level floorboard and a unified seat remain intact.

What’s new is the inclusion of the new TecPac, enriching the Urbane model with advanced features. Among these additions are hill-hold functionality, a comprehensive smartphone connectivity package and a reverse mode. This connectivity suite encompasses over-ther-air (OTA) updates, tamper alerts, and more.

Notably, the TecPac contributes to imporving the Chetak Urbane’s top speed to an impressive 73kmph, surpassing the standard variant’s 63 kmph. At the heart of the 2024 Bajaj Chetak e-scooter is a 2.9 kWh battery, boasting a maximum range of 113 km. The charging process takes approximately four hours and 50 minutes to complete. The e-scooter maintains a consistent ride quality with a monoshock setup at both the front and rear. Braking is handled by a front disc and rear drum configuration.

In a glimpse into Bajaj Auto’s forward-looking strategies, reports indicate that the Pune-based two-wheeler manufacturer is currently in the testing phase of a new CNG-powered bike. If these reports hold true, this model is poised to claim the title of India’s first-ever CNG-powered motorcycle. Recent sightings affirm that the Bajaj CNG bike will draw design inspiration from the Bajaj CT, and it is likely to be constructed on a perimeter frame derived from the Bajaj Pulsar NS125. The anticipated powertrain configuration suggests the inclusion of a 150cc engine integrated with a CNG tank. The proposed launch date for the Bajaj CNG bike is for the year 2024.
