Tata Motors has recently unveiled the updated versions of the Harrier and Safari SUVs in the Indian market. The 2023 Tata Safari and Harrier facelift have received significant design and interior changes along with several new features. Interested buyers can book the new SUVs online or at authorised Tata dealerships. Tata Motors has officially announced that the prices of the new SUVs will be released on October 17, 2023. Deliveries are expected to commence in the late October or early next month.
The 2023 Tata Harrier and Safari facelift come with heavily revised front and rear profiles, which are inspired from the new Nexon. Both SUVs have received full-width LED light bar running above the front grille. The front gets the updated split headlamp setup with main headlight is placed on the lower bumper, and new colour options. The top-spec versions are offered with bigger 19-inch alloys. The rear also receives a full width light bar connecting the two updated tail-lights.
The 2023 Tata Safari and Harrier facelift have also received significantly revised interior. The dashboard is completely changed with a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment screen, a new digital instrument console with navigation, a new 4-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo, and a new leatherette padding on the dashboard along with gloss black surfaces. Instead of the hydraulic system, the updated SUVs are equipped with electric power steering. In fact, the steering wheel gets two modes – Regular and Sport – that work in sync with the drive modes.
In terms of features, the updated SUVs get dual-zone climate control, a 10-speaker JBL sound system, rear window shades, gesture-controlled powered seats and paddle shifters for the automatic versions. The SUVs also get ventilated & electrically adjustable front seats with memory function. The 6-seater Safari also gets ventilation for the second row seats as well as Boss function. Both SUVs are now available with up to 7 airbags, and a 6 airbags are offered as standard across the range.
It was speculated that the 2023 Tata Safari and the Harrier facelift will be offered with a new 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that debuted at the 2023 Auto Expo. These SUvs are now available with a single 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that produces 170bhp and 350Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.
