2023 Tata Nexon Facelift Launch Timeline, Key Details

Tata Motors recently unveiled its plan to introduce four new electric SUVs by early 2024. The plan includes the refreshed Nexon EV, Harrier EV, Punch EV, and Curvv EV. This announcement was made by N Chandrasekaran, the Chairman of Tata Sons, during his address to shareholders. He mentioned that the “new upgraded Nexon” will be launched sometime this year, followed by the electric versions of the Harrier, Punch, and Curvv SUVs in the first quarter of 2024. The company aims to make 50 percent of its passenger vehicles and 65 percent of Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) vehicles environmentally friendly by 2030.

The 2023 Tata Nexon EV facelift is set to launch alongside the regular Nexon facelift by October. The compact electric SUV currently offers two battery pack options – 30.3kWh and 40.5kWh – providing claimed ranges of 453km and 312km, respectively. The existing powertrains are expected to be carried over to the updated version. Significant changes will be applied to both its exterior and interior, drawing inspiration from the Curvv SUV concept.

Spy images have revealed that the new Nexon facelift will feature a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel with an illuminated logo, a 7.0-inch fully digital instrument cluster, purple seat upholstery, and a new panel for AC controls. The gear lever will also be redesigned. The SUV will incorporate a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. There are rumors suggesting that the updated version might also include a 360-degree camera and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) technology.

Regarding the exterior, the 2023 Tata Nexon facelift will showcase a newly designed front grille with diamond-shaped inserts, a split headlamp setup, a more upright stance, a flatter nose, new alloy wheels, a redesigned tailgate, and taillamps featuring an LED light bar.

The refreshed Nexon will retain the 1.2L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel engines. It is likely that Tata will introduce its new 1.2L turbo petrol engine and a 7-speed Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT) gearbox to the compact SUV model lineup this time around.
