Tata Motors has announced that the new Harrier and Safari SUVs will soon be introduced with the upgraded technology and safety features. Both models will go on sale next month (i.e. March 2023). Ahead of their market arrival, the company has started accepting pre-bookings for the new 2023 Tata Harrier and Safari SUVs. Though, there is no mention of the booking amount.
The updated Harrier and Safari will come with the ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) offering safety features such as autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition, blind spot detection, lane change alert and high beam assist. The SUVs will receive a 360 degree camera, a 7-inch semi-digital instrument cluster and a new 10.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
The info unit will support wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with the voice commands in 6 languages. It will have clean UI with large and easily legible text. The new 2023 Tata Harrier and Safari will continue to offer a 9-speaker JBL sound system sourced from Harman. No changes will be made under the hood. The new Harrier and Safari will derive power from the same 2.0L turbo diesel engine that pushes out a claimed power of 170bhp and 350Nm. The motor has been updated to meet the BS6 II emission standards. The SUVs will be offered with the same gearbox options – a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. The drive modes have also been updated with an ESP (electronic stability program) terrain response system.
In terms of pricing, the new 2023 Tata Harrier and Safari are expected to cost around Rs 1 lakh premium over the existing model. While the Harrier is currently available within the price range of Rs 15 lakh – Rs 22.60 lakh, the Safari costs between Rs 15.65 lakh – Rs 24.01 lakh (all, ex-showroom).
