MG Motor India has introduced the new 2023 Hector and the new Hector Plus 3-row SUV at the ongoing Auto Expo 2023. The 2023 MG Hector Plus is available in 6 and 7-seat layout with the former having captain seats in the second-row. The updated model of the SUV comes with cosmetic design changes and an all-new interior along with new advanced driver assistance features. However, the engine options for the SUV remain the same. It is offered in 3 trims – Smart, Sharp and Savvy Pro.

2023 MG Hector Plus Design & Interior
Similar to the new Hector, the new Hector Plus 3-row SUV comes with a completely redesigned front fascia with sharp lines and angular body panels. It is fitted with a bigger grille that stretches further down in the lower bumper. The grille has Argyle-inspired diamond mesh pattern, and is surrounded by chrome lining that merges well with the high-mounted LED DRLs. The 2023 MG Hector Plus features split headlamp setup with the main headlamp unit getting a new pentagonal housing. The central air intake comes with silver surround, while new chrome brackets are added around the headlamps. The side profile remains the same with flared wheel arches, new 18-inch dual-tone alloys and blacked-out pillars. The rear gets slightly LED tail-lights and bumper.
Inside the cabin, the 2023 MG Hector Plus comes with wood finish trim and is finished in brown and black dual tone theme. The dashboard, steering wheel, door panels and gear-shifter are finished in leather. It sports a new multi-functional steering wheel, and an all-new digital instrument console along with chrome finish on the air con vents and on the steering wheel. It is fitted with a segment largest 14-inch HD portrait touchscreen infotainment system, which is supported with Next-Gen i-SMART technology. It gets a touch-sensitive control on the lower right of the display. It has wireless phone charging system, automatic parking lock, leather wrapped armrest, Jio e-SIM for connected car features, and a digital key that owners install on the phone. It features a panoramic sunroof, which can also be controlled via an infotainment unit. Adding to it, the SUV has auto turn indicators, Bluetooth enabled digital sharable key, voice operated ambient lighting and voice assistance in 5 languages – English, Hindi, Tamil, Punjabi and Marathi. The SUV also has connected car tech with over 75 features and over 100+ voice commands.
ADAS
It also comes with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) – called the MG Pilot. It offers features like forward collision warning, lane departure warning, lane-keep assist, rear cross traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, speed warning, intelligent headlamp control, traffic jam assist and blind spot detection.
2023 MG Hector Plus Specs
The SUV is available with two engine options – a 1.5L turbo petrol engine and a 2.0L turbo diesel. While the former is good for 143PS and 250Nm of torque, the turbo diesel engine produces 170PS and 350Nm of torque. A six-speed manual gearbox is offered as standard, while the petrol version is exclusively offered with a CVT automatic gearbox.
