2023 MG Hector New Revealed; Top Changes, First Look Video

MG Motor India has finally introduced the new 2023 MG Hector facelift in the country. Interested buyers can book the new Hector online or at authorised MG Dealerships . It comes with significantly revised design and an all-new interior. Prices of the new Hector is likely to be announced at the 2023 Auto Expo.

The new model comes with a completely redesigned front fascia, featuring sharp lines and angular body panels. The grille is significantly bigger and stretches further down in the lower bumper. The grille has a new diamond-like pattern along with a chrome surround that merges well with the high-mounted LED Daytime Running Lamps.

The new MG Hector comes with split headlamp design with the main headlamp unit getting a new pentagonal housing. There are new chrome brackets around the headlamps and new gloss black inserts. Instead of the silver finish, the central air intake comes with chrome surround. The side profile remains the same, and features the same 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

New Gen MG Hector 2023 Design

At the back, the 2023 MG Hector facelift comes with newly styled tail-lights with a restyled red strip connecting the lamps at either end. The ‘HECTOR’ name is now embossed below the number plate housing. It has a newly styled bumper with new angular creases. Instead of the dual-tone black and silver treatment, the new model comes with a cleaner design with subtle new chrome inserts.

The majority of the changes are made inside the cabin. It comes with an all-new cabin, featuring a new dashboard finished in leather. The door panels, steering wheel and gear-shifter are also finished in leather cover. The cabin is finished in dual-tone Oak White and Black scheme along with the rich brushed metal finish. It features a new multi-functional steering wheel, and an all-new digital instrument console. Also on offer is chrome finish on the air-con vents and on the steering wheel.

It comes with a segment largest 14-inch HD portrait touchscreen infotainment system, which is supported with Next-Gen i-SMART technology. It is claimed to offer a responsive, accurate and seamless experience. The infotainment unit is compatible with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay aong with voice navigation. The SUV comes with a fully digital 7-inch configurable instrument console.

The company has confirmed that the new touchscreen infotainment system will use MAPPLS and MapMyIndia based navigation instead of the existing Tom Tom-based system. The physical switchgears are replaced by a touch-sensitive control on the lower right of the display. The SUV has wireless phone charging system, automatic parking lock and leather wrapped armrest. It has a Jio e-SIM for connected car features, and a digital key that owner install on the phone.

The 2023 MG Hector comes with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) with features like forward collision warning, lane departure warning, lane-keep assist, rear cross traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, speed warning, intelligent headlamp control & blind spot detection.

The SUV comes with a panoramic sunroof, which is controlled by infotainment system. The SUV also gets auto turn indicators, bluetooth enabled digital sharable key, voice operated ambient lighting and voice assistance in 5 language – English, Hindi, Tamil, Punjabi and Marathi. The SUVs connected car tech offers over 75 features and over 100+ voice commands.

Engine Options

The new Hector facelift is offered with two engine options – 1.5-litre turbo petrol engines – one with mild hybrid technology – and a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine. The petrol hybrid engine produces 143PS and 250Nm of torque, while the oil burner is good for 170PS and 350Nm. A 6-speed manual gearbox is offered as standard, while the petrol hybrid variants are exclusively offered with a CVT automatic gearbox.
