Kia India is gearing up to bring in the heavily updated Seltos in mid July 2023. The SUV’s facelifted model has been caught on camera without any camouflage for the very first time near the company’s Andhra Pradesh based facility. The mid-life update will help the Seltos to stand up against the Maruti Grand Vitara Brezza, Toyota Hyryder and upcoming Honda Elevate and Citoren C3 Aircross. Its cousin and the segment leader – Hyundai Creta – will also receive a major update in early 2024. The new 2023 Kia Seltos facelift will come with slightly improved design and lots of advanced tech, but the engine setup will remain intact. The recently spotted model, which was painted in maroon shade, is the top-end GT Line variant. The SUV features a new grille, revised headlamps with new LED DRLs and updated bumper. The ‘Ice Cube’ LED fog lamp assembly and alloy wheels, however, are carried over from the current model. The new Seltos has LED strip at the front and rear ends. The cladding on the doors appears different from the existing one. At the rear, it might get newly-designed taillamps. The GT Line trim will have front and rear bumpers with red inserts and dual exhaust tips.

There will be two major feature upgrades for the new 2023 Kia Seltos facelift – a panoramic sunroof and ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) tech. The safety assistance suite will offer features such as blind spot collision warning, forward collision avoidance assist, intelligent speed limit assist, smart cruise control with stop and go, highway driving assist, safe exit warning and rear cross traffic collision avoidance assist. The new Seltos could also get a new interior theme with ambient lighting system.

Rumours have it that the new 2023 Kia Seltos facelift will be offered with a new 1.5L turbo petrol engine instead of the 1.4L turbo petrol unit. The new 1.5L gasoline motor will be good enough for 160bhp and 253Nm. It can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT gearbox. The existing 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol (115bhp/144Nm) and 1.5L diesel (116bhp/250Nm) will also be on offer.
