2023 Hyundai Creta To Get More Powerful 1.5L Turbo Petrol Engine – Report

According to a fresh media report, Hyundai Motor Company will introduce the Creta facelift with a new 1.5L turbo petrol engine. The new gasoline unit will come as a replacement to the existing 1.4L as it will not meet the upcoming BS6 Stage II emission standards. The new stricter norms are slated to implement in April, 2023. In order to comply to the new BS6 II regulations, the carmakers have to upgrade both hardware and software of the vehicles. Hyundai’s new turbocharged 1.5L turbo gasoline motor will deliver power worth 158bhp (160PS) and 260Nm of torque. It will be made available with the 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT gearbox options. The same transmissions are available with the existing 1.4L turbo petrol motor that’s good enough for 138bhp and 242Nm. That means, the new Creta will be more powerful and torqueier than the current generation.

The new 2023 Hyundai Creta facelift will continue to be available with the 115bhp, 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol and 115bhp, 1.5L turbo diesel engine options. Rumour has it that the company might also introduce the SUV with the CNG fuel option as well.

Noticeable changes will be made to the new Creta’s exterior and interior, while dimensions will remain unchanged. The SUV will receive an updated 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and Hyundai’s BlueLink connected car tech offering features such as stolen vehicle tracking, stolen vehicle immobilization and a valet parking mode.

One of the major feature upgrades will come in the form of the ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) offering safety features such as autonomous emergency braking with forward collision avoidance, adaptive cruise control, rear cross traffic collision avoidance assist, lane keep assist and blind spot monitor.
