2023 Hyundai Car Models Get More Standard Safety Features

Hyundai Motor India has updated its entire product range to meet the Bharat Stage 6 Phase-II norms. Now, all petrol engines from Hyundai are RDE (Real Driving Emissions) and E20 (20% ethanol and petrol blend) complaint and the diesel motors meet RDE standards. Besides this, the South Korean automaker has introduced more standard safety features to its cars. The 2023 Hyundai Grand i10 Nios hatchback and Aura compact sedan now get the adjustable rear headrests as standard safety fitment.

The 2023 model year of the i20 hatchback, Venue subcompact SUV and Creta compact SUV are now available with the standard adjustable rear headrests and all seats with 3-point seat belts. One must note that the 2023 Hyundai i20 Asta and Asta (O) variants have three adjustable headrests for the rear seat passengers. The updated 2023 Hyundai Venue and Creta come with 2-step reclining rear seats with a 60:40 split ratio.

Hyundai’s Upcoming Model

The South Korean automaker is ready to foray into the micro SUV segment with all-new Hyundai Exter that’s expected to go on sale in August 2023. The model lineup will be offered with two petrol engines – a 1.2L naturally aspirated and 1.0L turbo – making power worth 83bhp with 114Nm and 100bhp with 172Nm respectively. A 5-speed manual gearbox will be standard, while an AMT and DCT automatic transmissions will be optional with naturally aspirated and turbo petrol engines respectively.

Official details of the Hyundai Exter are still under the wraps. Though, it’s likely to come with a new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the latest smartphone connectivity, a semi-digital instrument cluster, Hyundai’s BlueLink connected car tech, a single-pane electric sunroof, automatic AC unit, a multi functional steering wheel, reverse parking camera, ABS with EBD, multiple airbags and more. Here, Hyundai’s new micro SUV will compete against the Tata Punch.
