2023 Hyundai Alcazar – 160bhp, 1.5L Turbo Engine, Bookings Open

Hyundai Motor India Limited is all set to introduce the 2023 Alcazar SUV in the country. In fact, bookings for the 2023 Hyundai Alcazar 3-row SUV have also started. The new model can be booked online or at authorised Signature Hyundai dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs 25,000. Hyundai has also confirmed that the new Alcazar will receive a new 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine.

The new 1.5-litre T-GDi 4-cylinder engine will also power the new-gen Verna, which is scheduled to be launched in our market on March 21, 2023. The new engine will replace the 1.4L turbo petrol engine across the Hyundai lineup. In fact, Hyundai has already removed the 1.4L turbo engine from the Creta line-up.

The new 1.5L turbo engine is RDE (Real Driving Emission) compliant and also compatible with E20 fuel. This engine is capable of producing 160PS of power at 5,500rpm and a peak torque of 253Nm between 1,500rpm and 3,500rpm. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission or DCT.

The 2023 Hyundai Alcazar with 1.5L turbo petrol & DCT will offer a certified fuel economy of 18kmpl, while the manual version offers an ARAI-rated fuel economy of 17.5kmpl. The SUV will continue to be offered with the 1.5-litre diesel engine that pushes out 115PS at 4,000rpm and a peak torque of 250Nm at 1,500-2,750rpm. The new 1.5L turbo petrol engine comes as a replacement for the 2.0-litre petrol engine.

The 2023 Hyundai Alcazar appears identical to the existing model. The new model comes equipped with 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Hill Start Assist Control (HAC) and disc brakes for all wheels. The SUV also comes with an idle start & Go function, which uses an integrated starter generator for greater efficiency.
