Japanese automaker, Honda has officially released the full exterior images of the 2023 Honda HR-V SUV. The second generation HR-V will be launched in the United States in the next few months.
The 2023 Honda HR-V looks different from the second-gen HR-V on sale in the European markets. It gets a completely different front fascia, featuring a wide lower bumper with mesh in the centre and vertical air inlets in the corners. The SUV gets a far more angular grille than the previous-gen vehicle. It gets a hexagonal pattern in the middle.
The headlights are now separated from the grille. The headlamp is placed higher than on the current model. There’s a sculpted section in the middle of the hood that merges well into the front design. The bonnet appears longer than before. Also See – New Honda City e:HEV hybrid – All Details
The side profile looks less aggressive, missing out the strong creases that runs across the length. The rear door handles are no longer in the C-pillar, and are now placed on a conventional location on the side of the body. The rear profile has a steeper rake for the rear pillar. The rear profile has sculpted design and has smaller and sleeker tail-lights.
Honda hasn’t released the interior images of the new HR-V mid-sized SUV. The new model is different from the one offered in the European-spec model. The cabin is also expected to receive significantly different interior. It is likely to receive upgraded tech features.
The 2023 Honda HR-V is based on the same platform that underpins the new generation Civic sedan. The new model will grow in size, and will ride on longer wheelbase. Honda said that the new “HR-V will feature a more responsive engine and a new independent rear suspension, giving the compact SUV a more confident, refined and fun-to-drive personality.”
The 2023 Honda HR-V SUV is likely to be offered with a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol that produces 158bhp and 187Nm of torque. The SUV is also expected to receive a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that churns out 180bhp and 240Nm of torque.
