Prices of the new 2023 Honda City facelift will be announced in coming days. Ahead of its official launch, the model has started arriving at dealerships and its real-world pictures have emerged online. Most of the cosmetic changes have been made at the front end. With the mid-life update, the ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) will be introduced in its petrol variants. The suite offers safety features such as adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist and more. The City will also come with hill start assist, vehicle stability assist, 6 airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system, a multi angle rear view camera, ORVM-mounted lane watch cameras and Isofix child mount. The sedan’s new model could also be offered with the wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, an updated infotainment system, ventilated seats and more.
The new 2023 Honda City facelift model lineup will come in four trims, namely SV, V, VX and ZX. The new V trim will come with the petrol-hybrid powertrain. Engine options will include a 121bhp, 1.5L petrol and a 126bhp, 1.5L petrol hybrid. A 6-speed manual gearbox will come as standard, while a CVT automatic transmission will be optional. The strong hybrid powertrain can be had with an e-CVT gearbox. The motors will be RDE compliant.
Once launched, the new City will continue to take on the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and the soon-to-be-launched new-generation Hyundai Verna. It will also compete against the Skoda Slavia and Volkswagen Vitrus. Prices of the facelifted City will be more or less similar to the current model that costs between Rs 11.87 lakh – Rs 15.62 lakh (all, ex-showroom). Its hybrid version is available at Rs 19.89 lakh.
