2023 Hero Xtreme 160R Testing Begins – What To Expect?

Hero MotoCorp has started testing the new Xtreme 160R that’s recently caught on camera in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The test mules were camouflaged covering its design changes. Though, one can notice the minimal panels around the headlamp, a bulky fuel tank with pronounced cladding, thick tyres, small LED taillamp and a two-piece grabrail at the back. The new 2023 Hero Xtreme 160R has a rectangular, fully digital instrument cluster and a stepped seat.

The bike’s updated model is likely to source power from the same 163cc, single-cylinder engine paired to a 5-speed gearbox. The motor has been tuned for generating power worth 15bhp and 14Nm of torque. Similar to the current model, the new one will sit on the tubular diamond frame and come with the telescopic front fork and pre-load adjustable rear monoshock suspension. The new 2023 Hero Xtreme 160R will have the dual channel ABS (anti-lock braking system).

Official launch date and details of the new Xtreme 160R are yet to be revealed. Reports suggest that the bike’s updated version might debut at the Delhi Auto Expo in January 2023. Its market launch will happen a few months after its official unveiling.

In other updates, Hero recently introduced its first electric scooter – Hero Vida V1 Plus and V1 Pro – priced at Rs 1.45 lakh and Rs 1.59 lakh respectively. While the former comes with a 3.44kWh battery offering a range of 143km and the latter has a 3.9kWh battery promising a range of 165km. Both variants are said to climb steep inclines with two riders, even when battery is 60 percent charged. It supports fast charging.

One can charge its battery pack from 0 to 80 percent by using a home charger in 5 hours 15 minutes (V1 Plus) and 5 hours 55 minutes (V1 Pro). While the V1 Plus can do 0 to 40kmph in 3.4 seconds, the V1 Pro takes 3.2 seconds. Both models are claimed to deliver a maximum speed of 80kmph.
