After reasonable success with XPulse 200, Hero MotoCorp is now preparing two new motorcycles with bigger capacity engines. The company is testing an all-new adventure motorcycle and a fully-faired bike on the roads of Himachal Pradesh. While the ADV will be launched under the XPulse brand, the sports bike will arrive under the Xtreme nameplate.
It was speculated that the new Hero Xpulse will come with a 300cc engine. However, a new media report claims that the new motorcycle will be built around a new 421cc engine and will be called the Hero XPulse 400. The fully-faired motorcycle will be launched as the Xtreme 400S.
The new Hero XPulse 400 will be powered by a new 421cc engine and will have performance to rival the KTM 390 Adventure. In fact, Royal Enfield has also started testing the new Himalayan 450 with a bigger capacity engine and better performance. The new 421cc engine is expected to produce around 40bhp of power and close to 35Nm of torque.
The report claims that Hero MotoCorp’s product development team is checking multiple issues of the bike. The issues will be sorted before starting the final tests of the new motorcycle. The new motorcycle is most likely to be unveiled in the first half of 2023, most probably at the Auto Expo in January, while launch is expected in the second half of next year.
What’s interesting is that Hero MotoCorp is also developing a new 300cc entry level sports bike, which will be launched before the introduction of new XPulse 400. It will rival the likes of the TVS Apache RR 310 and the KTM RC 200.
