The long-awaited 2022 Toyota Glanza is scheduled to be launched in the Indian market on March 15. Ahead of the official launch, Toyota has started accepting pre-orders online or at authorised dealerships. The new model can be booked by paying a token amount of Rs 11,000.
The 2022 Toyota Glanza will be powered by a single 1.2-litre dual-jet petrol engine that also powers the Baleno. This powertrain churns out a maximum power output of 89bhp and a peak torque of 113Nm. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission).
The updated Glanza will share the interior and features with the new Baleno. It will get black and beige interior scheme instead of black and blue offered in the Baleno. The 2022 Toyota Glanza is equipped with the same 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment system, which is compatible with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, navigation and voice commands.
In terms of features, the 2022 Toyota Glanza will get heads-up display, a 360 degree camera, automatic air conditioning, six airbags, ESP (Electronic Stability Program), cruise control, new multi-functional steering wheel and others. It still misses out on the wireless phone charging and an electric sunroof.
Toyota has already released multiple teaser images, which suggest that it comes with significantly revised design changes. The hatchback will come with Camry-like grille and bumper, new chrome embellishment and new L-shaped LED daytime running lamp signatures. It will ride on new 16-inch alloy wheels. The hatchback will be offered in 5 colour options – red, blue, grey, white and silver.
