Tata Motors recently introduced the Tiago EV at a special introductory price of Rs 8.49 lakh. It’s top-end variant – XZ+ Tech LUX – has been priced at Rs 11.79 lakh. Now, the company is planning to give software update to the Tiago EV “in a month’s time”. Speaking to a media publication, Vivek B Shrivatsa, Head of Marketing, Sales and Service Strategy, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd, has revealed that the 2022 Tata Tiago EV will soon receive some new features via a software update.
The electric sedan will come with the multi-mode regeneration system and cruise control functions. One must note that both aforementioned fitments are available on the Tiago EV. The existing Tigor EV owners will also get these features via a software update. The additional controls and switchgear for regen braking and cruise control are expected to be offered at the service centre.
Customers might have to pay for the additional hardware updates, while the software upgrades will be free of cost. The 2022 Tata Tigor EV might also be packed with the leather-wrapped steering wheel, leatherette upholstery, rain sensing wipers and automatic headlamps.
No changes will be made to its powertrain. The new Tigor EV will continue to come with the 26kWh battery pack that promises a range of 306km (ARAI-certified) on a single charge. The setup includes an electric motor that pushes out a peak power of 75bhp and 170Nm of torque.
The home-grown automaker is currently offering attractive discounts on the Harrier, Safari SUVs, Tiago hatchback and Tigor sedan. Buyers can avail benefits of up to 20,000 on the Tata Tigor.
