Tata Motors has finally introduced the new Tiago electric vehicle in the Indian market. Positioned below the Tigor EV, the Tata Tiago EV is the most affordable electric passenger vehicle in the country. The new Tata Tiago electric has been launched at a special introductory price of Rs 8.49 lakh.

The Tata Tiago electric looks largely identical to the ICE-powered model; however, Tata has made some EV-like design elements. The new model comes with blue accents on the front grille and around the fog lamp housing. The hatchback gets a blanked-off grille in gloss black with tri-arrow pattern, EV badging and projector headlamps.

The new model comes with features like sport mode, connected car tech, leatherette seats, fully automatic AC, cooled glovebox and i-TPMS as standard. The new Tata Tiago EV comes equipped with multi-mode regen, cruise control, fast charging technology and ZConnect features. Most of the features are shared with the regular ICE model. It has rear defogger, rear parking camera, multi-functional steering wheel, electrically adjustable ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, voice commands, height adjustable driver seat, and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, and an 8-speaker Harman-sourced music system.

Regen braking allows user to recharge batteries while driving, and the highest regen level aiding in a single pedal driving. The multi-mode regen and cruise control are not offered on the Tigor EV; however, Tata could add these features in the next update.
