The homegrown automaker, Tata Motors is now working on an updated version of the Nexon electric. The new model has been spotted testing multiple times. A latest set of spy images reveal that the 2022 Tata Nexon Electric will be equipped with all-4 disc brakes.
The 2022 Tata Nexon Electric will come with a new variant, which offers a longer range. The model is also expected to receive some upgrades in the form of improved brakes and few design changes. The spotted model looks identical to the outgoing Nexon.
The spy images show that the 2022 Tata Nexon electric will have a blanked-out grille and angular headlamps with LED daytime running lights. The bumper has a tri-arrow motif and fog lamps.
The current model is equipped with Tata’s Ziptron EV powertrain technology that has a 30.2kWh battery pack. This powertrain offers 127bhp of power and 245Nm of torque. The battery comes with a standard warranty of 8 years. The 2022 Tata Nexon electric’s long range variant is expected to be launched by mid-2022. It is likely to be fitted with a 40kWh battery pack and is estimated to offer a maximum range of around 400km on a single charge. The long-range variant will rival the MG ZS EV, which offers a certified range of 412kms.
Tata Motors is also working on a new all-electric coupe version of the Nexon. It will be based on the same X1 platform that underpins the Nexon. It is likely to measure around 4.3 meters in length. This model is also expected to receive a 40kWh battery pack with range over 400kms on a single charge.
