The new breed of Tata cars has been receiving an unprecedented response from car buyers. The company is at third spot with over 14% market share in the list of top car manufacturer in the country. Tata Motors has now released a new teaser, which shows the updated Nexon, Safari and the Harrier. The new teaser revolves around the luxurious and sophisticated lifestyle of customers with a desire for premium details.
Tata Motors are likely to introduce the special editions instead of facelifts for Harrier and Safari. The company reveals that the new updated will allow customers “Soar In Ultimate Luxury”. The new updated will also be offered on the Nexon range as well. There are two Nexons in the teaser, suggesting Nexon EV is also expected to receive these changes.
The new models will come with a white contrasting roof. The Tata Harrier and Safari special editions are likely to come with leather seats, and leatherette touches on dashboard and door trims. Soft touch plastics are also expected to be added on the central console and on the top of the dashboard.
The similar updates are also likely to be offered on the Tata Nexon as well as the Nexon EV. The previous teaser had “Jet. Set. Slay” in it, which is missing in the new teaser. For people not in the know, the word Jet might refer to a new petrol engine as the word was earlier used for engines.
The updated Tata Harrier and Safari are likely to come with a larger infotainment system; however, the teaser shows the existing infotainment unit. This suggest that Tata could introduce the special editions of the Safari and the Harrier instead of a significant update. It is expected that Tata Motors could be introducing the new versions to further boost sales during festive season, before Diwali.
The Tata Safari and the Harrier are powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that produces 170bhp of power and 350Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. The updated versions of the new models will also receive a 1.5-litre petrol engine. The Nexon compact SUV is offered with two engine options – a 1.2L turbo petrol and a 1.5L turbo-diesel.
