Japanese automaker, Suzuki is working on a wide range of new cars for the global as well as the Indian market. The next big model from the Japanese brand is the new S-Cross, which is scheduled to make global debut on November 25, 2021. Ahead of the possible reveal, the 2022 Suzuki S-Cross has been leaked on the Internet.
This time around, the spy images are more clear and fully reveal the design of the 2022 Suzuki S-Cross crossover. The latest set of images reveal the front, side and rear profile of the crossover. The new model will first go on sale in Europe, as the dealer dispatch have already been started. The 2022 Suzuki S-Cross is also expected to arrive in our market in the next 1-2 years.
The spy images confirm that the 2022 Suzuki S-Cross will come with all-new design. It gets an upright SUV-ish profile as against the crossover stance in the outgoing model. The side and rear profile give it a crossover styling, as it features a sloping roofline and a hunched rear.
The new S-Cross comes equipped with a newly designed front fascia, featuring a new grille. It gets a new triple-beam LED projector headlamps with integrated LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps). There is a thick chrome bar that connects the headlight clusters. The crossover features a muscular front bumper that accommodates new fog lamp enclosures and new lower air-dam.
Also visible is a silver-finished skid plate at the front and blacked-out treatment on the front grille, air dams and plastic cladding. The ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors) are now placed on side panels instead of windows.
Details about the 2022 Suzuki S-Cross are yet to be revealed. It is expected that the new model will come with better quality and feature-loaded cabin. The new model could get a bigger touchscreen infotainment system, connected car technology, advanced features and an electric sunroof.
The new generation S-Cross could also get an ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) with features like lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind spot detection, etc.
The new S-Cross will ditch the current platform, and is reportedly to be based on the new-gen and advanced version of the HEARTECT platform. The crossover could measure somewhere around 4.3 meters in length. The new model could receive all-new engine options.
Suzuki is focusing on electrification, and the new S-Cross could receive major improvements in terms of hybrid tech. It will receive major improvements in terms of hybrid tech. The new model will receive light hybrid technology to achieve European emission norms. Called the SHVS (Suzuki Hybrid Vehicle System), the new mild-hybrid system will be coupled with petrol engine.
The new model is expected to feature a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a 48-volt system. Transmission options could include a 6-speed manual and an automatic gearbox. It is also likely to get Suzuki’s AllGrip 4×4 drive system. The 1.5L engine is capable of producing 103bhp and 138Nm of torque. The crossover could also receive a 1.4L Boosterjet turbo engine that offers 127bhp and 235Nm of torque.
