Prices of the new 2022 MG ZS EV are slated to be announced on 7th March. Ahead of its official arrival, the variant and features of the updated model have surfaced on the web. As per the leaked information, the new ZS EV model line-up will be initially made available in a single fully-loaded Exclusive trim. On the feature front, it will receive a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system (sourced from the Astor), a 360 degree camera and a digital driver’s display.
Furthermore, the electric SUV will be packed with the connected car tech, wireless phone charging, a panoramic sunroof, a powered driver’s seat, auto headlamps and wipers. This time around, the ZS EV will get the AC vents, a centre headrest and an armrest with cup holders for the middle row occupants. The higher trim will have exclusive new faux carbon fibre trim around the touchscreen. The electric SUV will also borrow the climate control buttons from the Astor.
With respect to safety, the new 2022 MG ZS EV will offer six airbags’ protection, ABS with EBD, blind spot detection and park assist. Reports suggest that the SUV’s updated model will offer select features of the ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems).
A few changes will also be made to its exterior. The updated model will carry anew blanked-off grille area with a charging port, slightly tweaked front and rear bumpers, sleeker LED headlamps with new LED DRLs, ‘Electric’ badges on the front fenders, newly-designed 17-inch alloy wheels and new LED taillamps.
Unlike the pre-facelift model that comes with the smaller 44kWh, the new one will have a larger 50.3kWh battery pack offering a range close to 450km. The battery pack will be coupled to an electric motor that’s good enough for 143PS and 353Nm.
The new 2022 MG ZS EV prices will be slightly higher than the existing Exclusive trim that currently costs Rs 25.18 lakh (ex-showroom).
