MG Hector, the mid-size SUV from the British automaker, is ready to receive an update this year. The SUV’s facelift is reported to hit showrooms by 2022 Diwali season. Ahead of its official arrival, the 2022 MG Hector facelift has been caught on camera without any camouflage. The front grille and headlamp clusters appear to be revised. The spotted model was painted in Grey shade with red strip running across its fog lamp assembly, pronounced hoot and roof rails. Its taillamp units might also be updated.
While its official details are yet to be revealed, the new 2022 MG Hector facelift is reported to come with the Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The same technology has already been offered on the Astor SUV.
The suite includes safety features such as forward collision warning, lane assistance, lane departure warning, rear cross traffic alert and blind spot detection. If offered, the ADAS suite could be exclusively available on the top-end Savvy trim. No changes are expected to be made to its engine setup. The new 2022 MG Hector facelift is likely to be offered with the same 1.5L, 4-cylinder turbo petrol and 2.0L diesel engine options. While the gasoline unit is good enough for 141bhp and 250Nm, the oil burner delivers 168bhp and 350Nm of torque. The petrol engine can also be had with the mild hybrid system. The setup will include a 1.5L gasoline unit and a 48V system. A 6-speed manual gearbox will be standard across the model lineup. The 1.5L petrol variants will get a CVT automatic gearbox.
