2022 Maruti WagonR Facelift Caught During TVC Shoot

Maruti Suzuki is working on a wide range of new models along with updated versions of its existing range. The company will soon launch the new Baleno facelift in the country on February 23, 2022. Moreover, the company is developing updated versions of the Ertiga, XL6 and the WagonR.

MSIL is also preparing the new Vitara Brezza and an all-new mid-sized SUVs, which will be launched before the end of 2022. The 2022 Maruti WagonR facelift is expected to be launched in the coming weeks, as the updated model has been caught testing during TV commercial shoot.

The spy images reveal that the 2022 Maruti WagonR facelift won’t receive major design changes. The only additions visible in the updated model are the black roof and new blacked-out alloy wheels. Maruti could also add new colour options to the tall-boy hatchback.

2022 Maruti WagonR Launch

The cabin pictures are yet to be revealed. We believe that the new model could come with new upholstery for seats. Moreover, the 2022 Maruti WagonR could get the brand’s new SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment system. This system will be compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The tall-boy hatchback could also receive some new features; however, details are yet to be revealed. The hatchback could get hill hold assist with AMT variants and engine idle start stop system.

The new Wagon R won’t receive any mechanical changes. It will continue to be offered with two petrol engines – a 1.0-litre and a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder. The smaller capacity unit delivers a claimed power of 68bhp and a maximum torque of 90Nm, and the 1.2L motor promises power worth 83bhp. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT. The 1.0L petrol unit offers fuel efficiency of 22.5kmpl and the 1.2L mill offers a mileage of 21.5kmpl.
