Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the much-awaited 2022 Maruti Baleno facelift in the Indian market in February. Interested buyers can pre-book the hatchback online or at authorised NEXA dealerships. Production of the car has already been commenced at Suzuki’s Gujarat based plant.

Design Changes
The 2022 Maruti Baleno hatchback will receive cosmetic design changes. Thanks to the new bumpers and grille, the new Baleno looks wider and bolder than the outgoing model. It comes with a new larger grille & L-Shaped wrap-around projector headlamps with LED DRLs, and a revised bonnet design. It gets revised fenders for new front design and tail-lights. The hatchback gets new tailgate, new L-shaped tail-lights and new bumper.
Interior Changes
The biggest change will be made inside the cabin, as it will have an all-new interior. The vehicle gets a newly designed dashboard with a new floating central console. It will have a new free-standing touchscreen infotainment system on top of the console with AC vents positioned below. The lower console accommodates buttons for air-con systems.
The hatchback will have a differently styled semi-digital instrument console with new clear dials. It comes with Maruti Suzuki’s sporty flat bottom steering wheel, which we have already seen on the Swift.
The vehicle’s new infotainment system is jointly developed by Toyota and Suzuki. It will support wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with connected car tech. The hatchback will also receive wireless charging system. The 2022 Maruti Baleno will also receive heads up display unit or HUD.
Safety
It is reported that Maruti Suzuki will also improve the steel quality used in the Baleno hatchback. The outer body panels and chassis will have thicker grade of steel. Moreover, the top-model will get up to 6 airbags and ESP (Electronic Stability Program).
Engine Options
The Maruti Baleno facelift will retain the existing engine options – a 83bhp, 1.2L NA petrol and a 90bhp, 1.2L dualjet with 12V mild hybrid system. It was reported that the new model could get a Swift-like single clutch automatic or AMT (Automated Manual Transmission).
