Mahindra & Mahindra is gearing up to launch the new-generation Scorpio SUV later this year. The automaker has been testing the new model for a very long time. We have seen its prototypes multiple times revealing its interesting design and interior details. The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio SUV will come with improved design, upmarket interior and more powerful petrol and diesel engines. Under the hood, it will feature 2.0L mStallion turbo petrol and 2.2L turbo diesel motors delivering power worth 130bhp (lower variants)/160bhp (higher variants) and 155bhp respectively. If reports are to be believed, the new Scorpio model lineup could be introduced with new nameplate ‘Mahindra Scorpio Sting’ or ‘Mahindra ScorpioN’. The latter could be used for the more powerful variant of the SUV. It can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. Major changes will be made to its design including newly-designed headlamps with LED DRLs, updated front and rear bumpers, new LED taillamps and more. The SUV will also grow dimensionally and have more cabin space to offer. It will be based on the all-new GEN-3 platform that’s likely to improve its safety quotient and performance.
