Maruti’s New Mid-Size SUV To Be Named ‘Maruti Vitara’ – Report

Maruti Suzuki will launch two new SUVs this year, namely, the new-generation Vitara Brezza and a new mid-SUV. While the former is ready to go on sale on 30th June, the latter will arrive near around 2022 Diwali season. Earlier, both models were reported to underpin Toyota’s TNGA-B (or DNGA) platform. Though, a fresh media report claims that the upcoming Maruti and Toyota mid-size SUV will be designed on Suzuki’s Global-C platform. It further states that the model could be named Maruti Vitara. Just so you know, Toyota’s upcoming mid-size SUV will be named Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder that will make its world debut on 1st July 2022.

The Made-in-India Maruti Vitara will be a global model that could be exported to European markets as a replacement to the existing Vitara SUV. Under the hood, the SUV will employ Suzuki’s Dualjet K15C series engine that makes a peak power of 103bhp and 136.8Nm of torque. Interestingly, the motor will be boosted with Toyota’s strong hybrid technology that’s reported to be done by the company.
