The South Korean carmaker recently updated the Seltos and Sonet model lineup in the country. Both SUVs come with the brand’s new badges and minor upgrades. The 2021 Kia Seltos was recently introduced in the US market. According to a fresh media report, the company will add the 2022 Kia Seltos Nightfall Edition to the model lineup that’s likely to be based on the range-topping Spectrum trim. One must note that the new edition will be offered in the 2022 model year in the US market. As of now, the carmaker has no plan to bring in it in India.
While there is no official pictures and details of the 2022 Kia Seltos Nightfall Edition, the model is likely to get cosmetic enhancement over the regular model. Features such as sporty blacked-out radiator grille, black side sills and roof rails and 18-inch matte black alloy wheels will distinguish from the standard model. Similar to the recently updated model, the new premium variant will carry the brand’s new logo.
The 2022 Kia Seltos (US-spec version) is reported to get automatic emergency braking system, lane keeping assist as standard fitments. Currently, the entry-level LX trim misses out on the aforementioned features. Interior of the Seltos Nightfall Edition is a mystery to us. Though, the sporty black treatment is likely to continue inside the cabin as well.
In the US, the 2022 Kia Seltos Nightfall Edition will be offered with the 175bhp, 1.6L, 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine and a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox. The new Seltos Nightfall Edition is estimated to cost around $27,865. If launched at this price point, it will be the most affordable variant with 1.6L turbo petrol-DCT automatic gearbox combination. It’s reported to be $1,100 pricier than the S Turbo trim.
