The fourth-generation Hyundai Tucson is getting ready for its India launch. The model, which is currently in its final testing phase, receives significant design and feature upgrades. According to a fresh report, the 2022 Hyundai Tucson will be offered in 7-seat configuration only. Compared the existing model, the SUV’s 7-seater version measures 150mm longer and has a 85mm longer wheelbase. Its width has been increased by 15mm. In global markets, the new Tucson comes with Standard Wheelbase (2680mm) and Long-Wheelbase (2755mm) variants.
The new Hyundai Tucson 7-seater will have an upper hand over the Jeep Compass, Volkswagen Tiguan and Citroen C5 Aircross. While its prices will be announced in coming months, the SUV’s new model is estimated to cost between Rs 25 lakh – Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom). Here, it will come as a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) unit.
If reports are to be believed, the 2022 Hyundai Tucson could be offered with Hyundai’s ADAS (advanced driver assistance system). The ADAS suite includes blind spot monitor, autonomous emergency braking with forward collision avoidance, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist. The new Hyundai Tucson 7-seater will be equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital drive display. Features such as the 360 degree cameras, air purifier, wireless smartphone charging, powered controls for the rear seat passenger to adjust the front passenger’s seat, 64-colour ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, BlueLink connected car features and a Bose audio system will be carried forward from the current generation Tucson.
Carrying Hyundai’s Sensuous Sportiness design language, the new Tucson appears more mature and sportier. It features the brand’s new signature ‘parametric’ grille, projector headlamps with half-mirror type LED DRLs, prominent character lines and T-shaped taillamps connected via a LED light bar. For power, the new 2022 Hyundai Tucson will use the same 2.0L turbo petrol and diesel engines.
