The new-generation Mahindra Scorpio is reported to debut in the month of June, which will be followed by its market launch. The SUV’s new model is currently its final testing phase. It will witness significant changes in terms of design and styling, features and engine mechanism. With the generation change, the model will receive a factory-fitted sunroof. Though, it could be reserved for the higher trims. The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio could be initially offered with the standard size sunroof, while the panoramic sunroof option is likely to come at a later stage. Mahindra’s popular SUV will be made available in two seating configurations – 6 and 7-seats. It’s 7-seater version will have captain seats for the second row with individual armrests and front facing seats for the third row. The new 2022 Mahindra Scorpio will be packed with some advanced features including a 360 degree camera, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity, electronic stability control, connected car tech, rear disc brakes and more.
Major changes will come in the form of the new platform and more powerful engines. The new Scorpio will be made available with the 2.0L mStallion petrol and 2.2L mHawk turbo diesel motors. The gasoline unit is reported to deliver 130bhp on the lower variants and 160bhp on the higher variants. The oil burner will be good for 155bhp. Official details, however, are yet to be revealed. Buyers will have a 6-speed torque convertor automatic and a 6-speed manual gearbox on offer. It will get 4X4 drivetrain system from the new Thar.
Compared to the current generation, the new 2022 Mahindra Scorpio will be bigger, lighter and more spacious. Its dimensions are still under the wraps. The SUV will carry the brand’s new logo along with the heavily updated front and rear fascia. Overall built quality might also be classed-up.
