Hyundai India’s flagship SUV – Tucson – will soon receive a generation change in the country. While its official launch date is yet to be revealed, the model is likely to hit roads in the second half of 2022. The model lineup has witnessed comprehensive updates inside and out. Under the hood, the new 2022 Hyundai Tucson might feature the 2.0L MPI naturally aspirated petrol engine sourced from the 7-seater Alcazar SUV.
The existing 2.0L CRDI diesel engine will also be on offer. The AWD system will continue to be reserved for the top-end variant. The SUV’s new-generation model will be available with a 6-speed and an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
One of the biggest feature updates might come in the form of the ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) suite. It includes multiple safety features such as adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane change assist and more. The new 2022 Hyundai Tucson features the brand’s new ‘Sensual Sportiness’ design language and sharp angles and creases. The front end has been adorned by a new 3D grille with parametric jewel theme, newly-designed LED projector headlamps and revised bumper featuring a faux skid plate and sleeker air dam. The new machine-cut 18-inch alloy wheels with dual-tone finish enhance its side profile. At the rear, the SUV carries new LED taillamps connected via a thin LED strip and differently designed tailgate.
Prices of the new Tucson will be more or less similar to the current model that costs between Rs 22.69 lakh – Rs 27.47 lakh (all, ex-showroom). It might be offered within the price range of Rs 23 lakh – Rs 28 lakh.
