2022 Honda BR-V Looks More SUV-ish In A New Rendering

Honda N7X concept, which was recently unveiled for the Indonesian market, previews the upcoming three-row SUV of the brand. If reports are to be believed, the new-generation Honda BR-V will be based on the new 7-seater concept. Its final model will have its world premiere at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) in August 2021. Ahead of its official reveal, the patent images of the SUV have been leaked online. Now, here’s a fresh digital rendering that previews a possible design of the production-ready new 2022 Honda BR-V SUV.

The rendered model carries SUV-ish stance with Honda N7X concept inspired front. It features a radiator grille with multiple horizontal slats, newly-designed headlamps with LED DRLs and the updated bumper with wide air-dam, a faux skid plate and brushed aluminum inserts. The fog lamp assembly has black L-shaped surrounding.

The black cladding all around the body, bolder side creases, pronounced wheel arches with alloy wheels, dual-tone ORVMs, body-coloured door handles, silver roof rails and shark fin antenna enhance its sporty side profile. The rear design of the new 2022 Honda BR-V rendered model looks similar to the current generation City sedan. It sports a wraparound windscreen, City-like taillamps and skid plate.

Under the hood, the 2022 Honda BR-V will house a 1.5L, naturally aspirated petrol engine that’s good enough for 121bhp and 145Nm of torque. Both manual (5-speed) and automatic (CVT) gearboxes will be on offer. It could be offered with the 1.0L, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine option. The gasoline unit, linked to a CVT automatic transmission, delivers a claimed power of 121bhp and 175Nm of torque. Reports suggest that the SUV might come with a hybrid powertrain, sourced from the City RS.

As of now, there is no official word on its India launch. Even if the carmaker plans to bring in the new-generation Honda BR-V here, it will be introduced as a 7-seater SUV.
