2021 Mahindra Bolero Neo, the upcoming subcompact SUV from the home-grown carmaker, has started arriving at dealerships in the country. The model is likely to hit roads towards the end of this month (July 2021). It’s essentially the updated TVU300 with a new nameplate, BS6-compliant engine and a few cosmetic and feature upgrades. The recently spotted model was painted in Rocky Beige colour scheme that’s offered on the Thar model lineup. That means, the updated Bolero Neo will come with a new paint scheme. In terms of design, the new Mahindra compact SUV retains the original boxy, upright stance. Though, its front end has been revised with a new six-slat chrome grille, redesigned headlamps with wrap around LED DRLs, updated bumper and new fog lamps. The squared wheel arches and side fender mounted indicators further differentiate it from the TUV300. No changes have been made to its rear section.
Inside, the 2021 Mahindra Bolero Neo features an analogue instrument cluster that seems to be borrowed from the Thar. It also gets a second-row armrest. The compact SUV might also receive an updated 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity along with the automatic AC unit. Powering the new Bolero Neo will be the BS6 iteration of the 1.5L, 3-cylinder diesel engine. The motor pushes out a peak power of 100bhp and 240Nm of torque. All variants will come with a 5-speed manual gearbox, while the AMT unit will be available on select trims.
Reports suggest that the upcoming Mahindra Bolero Neo model lineup with be spread across 3 trims – N4, N8 and N10. Its prices are likely to start from Rs 8.5 lakh and go up to Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom). In the sub-4 meter SUV space, it will face challenge from multiple products including Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Ford EcoSport and Toyota Urban Cruiser.
