Hero MotoCorp has rolled out the new Splendor Plus Xtec at Rs 72,900 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Compared to the Matt Shield Gold variant, this new model is around Rs 1,200 more expensive. In terms of design and performance, the new 2022 Hero Splendor Plus Xtec is exactly similar to the regular model. Though, it gets a bunch of new features including a fully digital console with Bluetooth connectivity, USB charging port, real-time mileage readout, call and SMS alert and side stand engine cutoff.
The new 2022 Hero Splendor Plus Xtec is being offered in four colour schemes, namely, Tornado Grey, Sparkling Beta Blue, Canvas Black and Pearl White. No changes have been made to its engine. The new Xtec variant uses the same 97.2cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine delivering a top power of 7.9bhp and 8.05Nm of torque. The motor has been boosted with Hero’s i3S engine start/stop system that enhances fuel efficiency.
The Splendor Plus bike comes with telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers upfront and 5-step adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear. It uses 130mm front and rear drum brakes for deriving braking power. The bike runs on 80/100-18 M/C 47P and 80/100-18 M/C 54P tubeless front and rear tyres respectively. Its overall length, width and height stand at 2000mm, 720mm and 1052mm respectively. It has saddle height of 785mm and sits on a 1236mm of wheelbase. The Hero Splendor offers a fuel tank capacity of 9.8-litres.
Talking about Hero’s future plan, the company is all set to enter into the electric two-wheeler segment with its new VIDA EV brand. Its first electric scooter will make debut on 1st July, 2022 at Hero MotoCorp’s Green manufacturing plant in Chittoor. Deliveries of the new Hero electric scooter will start towards the end of this year. It will be placed against the Ather 450X, Bajaj Chetak, Ola S1 and Simple One.
