The American SUV maker has finally revealed prices of its all-new Jeep Meridian 7-seater SUV for the Indian market. The model lineup comes in 5 variants spread across two trims – Limited and Limited (O) – which are priced at Rs 29.99 lakh and Rs 36.95 lakh respectively. All aforementioned prices are introductory, ex-showroom Delhi.
In this price range, the new Jeep 7-seater SUV will take on the Toyota Fortuner (diesel-only), MG Golster (diesel-only) and Skoda Kodiaq (petrol-only). The production of the SUV takes place at Jeep’s Ranjangaon facility near Pune. The company says that the Meridian has 82 percent localized components enabling them to price it competitively.

Jeep Meridian Engine Power
At the heart of the new Jeep 7-seater SUV is a 2.0-litre diesel engine, which is borrowed from the Compass. The motor returns a claimed power of 170bhp and 350Nm of torque. For performing transmission duties, there is a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 9-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. Both units can be had with FWD (front-wheel drive) system, while the AWD (all-wheel drive) is available with the automatic gearbox only.

As mentioned above, the new Jeep 7-seater SUV is available in Limited and Limited (O) trims. The range-topping variant comes with some exclusive features including a 360 degree camera, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a dual-pane sunroof, dual-tone roof and mirror caps and electrically operated tailgate. The standard feature kit includes LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs, LED cornering fog lamps, diamond cut, dual-tone 18-inch alloys, roof rails, automatic headlamps, brown leather seats, manual height adjustment for the driver’s seat, a 10.1-inch touchscreen info unit with uConnect 5 connected car tech, Alpine 9-speaker audio system, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, electronic parking brake, traction control system, tyre pressure monitoring system, 6 airbags, hill start assist, electronic stability control and many more.
Seating Arrangement
The SUV’s 2nd row has recline, fold and tumble function with 60:40 split ratio and the 3rd row seat comes with recline and flat fold feature along with 50:50 split ratio. The third row seats are available with cooling feature with controls. The Meridian offers bench type seats for the middle and third row passengers.
Jeep Meridian Colours, Dimensions
The new Jeep 7-seater SUV measures 4769mm in length, 1859mm in width and 1698mm in height. That means, it’s 364mm longer, 41mm wider and 48mm taller than the Compass. It sits on a 2782mm long wheelbase (which is 146mm longer than its 5-seater sibling). The SUV has a boot space of 233-1760-litres.
