Audi has started local production of the updated Q5 SUV at its production plant in Aurangabad. The 2022 Audi Q5 facelift is scheduled to be launched in November 2021. The updated model was introduced in global markets in June 2020. It comes with revised styling, feature-loaded cabin and updated BSVI-compliant turbocharged petrol engine.
Estimated to be priced around Rs 55 lakh, the 2022 Audi Q5 facelift will rival the likes of the BMW X3, Land Rover Discovery Sport and the Mercedes-Benz GLC. In terms of styling changes, the new Q5 comes with a more prominent and larger front grille with honeycomb pattern, revised bumper, new LED headlamps and blacked-out treatment at the front end. Other design changes include bigger side intakes, newly-styled alloy wheels, new tail-lights with digital OLED tech and revised rear bumper.
Minimal changes have been made inside the cabin. It gets an all-new larger 10.1-inch MMI infotainment system placed above the central console. The infotainment system is compatible with Amazon Alexa integration and connected car technology. It also gets an updated digital instrument console. The 2022 Audi Q5 comes with ambient lighting system, triple zone climate control, electrically adjustable front seats, wireless phone charger and cruise control.
The 2022 Audi Q5 facelift will be powered by a BS-VI compliant 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that also powers the A6 sedan. This engine is capable of producing 245PS of power and 370Nm of torque. It is paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, and the power is transmitted to wheels via Audi’s Quattro AWD (all-wheel-drive) system.
