2021 Volkswagen Polo facelift has finally made its world debut via official pictures. The updated model comes with minor cosmetic changes along with a bunch of new features and two engine options.
Major design updates have been made at the front end. The new VW Polo features new, sharply designed LED headlamps that seem inspired by the facelifted Golf and Tiguan.
The higher trims are exclusively offered with the matrix LED headlamps. The newly-designed alloy wheels and wider C-shaped LED taillamps borrowed from the Golf further enhance its new look. Read – Upcoming Volkswagen Taigun Features, Design Details Officially Revealed
While the 15-inch alloy wheels are standard across the model lineup, the R-Line model gets 16-inch alloys along with the faux quad exhaust tips. Now, the Polo badge sits at the center of the tailgate.
Step inside and one of the biggest change you will notice will be the 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Similar to the updated Tiguan and Arteon, the 2021 Volkswagen Polo facelift gets fancy touch climate controls. A larger 10.25-inch fully digital driver’s display comes as standard.
As mentioned above, the new Volkswagen Polo has been offered with two petrol engines. A 1.0L naturally aspirated petrol motor makes a top power of 80bhp and 93Nm of torque. It can be had with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Read – New-Generation Volkswagen Polo Might Come To India
The updated hatchback also comes with a 1.0L TSI engine that’s tuned for two power states – 95bhp and 110bhp. A 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox is optional with the 95bhp version and standard with the 110bhp model.
One must note that there is no diesel engine option. For budget conscious buyers, the carmaker offers a 1.0L TGI petrol engine with a CNG kit. It pushes out a peak power of 90bhp and 160Nm of torque.
While its mileage figure is still under the wraps, the 2021 Volkswagen Polo CNG is likely to deliver diesel-like fuel efficiency.
