2021 Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo Spied Undisguised; Aggressive Design

Japanese automaker, Toyota has recently revealed the Fortuner facelift in the Thai market. The new model is available in two trim levels – the standard and the new Legender variant with more aggressive design. The company hasn’t introduced the Fortuner TRD SPORTIVO variant, which is expected to feature more sportier profile. Here are the leaked images of the 2021 Toyota Fortuner TRD SPORTIVO.

The sportier variant of the 2021 Toyota Fortuner facelift was snapped at a parking. The spotted model was finished in a white paint scheme. The 2021 Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo features significant design changes. It comes with all-new front bumper, radiator front grille with horizontal red strip and a large TRD logo. Other design highlights include new LED tail-lamps, dual-tone alloys and revised rear bumper.

The 2021 Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo will be equipped with new comfort and convenience features. It gets a larger 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The SUV also gets handsfree electric tailgate opening with kick feature, wireless charging, a 360 degree camera and others.

The new model will be powered by a 2.8-litre turbocharged diesel engine that produces 201bhp of power and 500Nm of torque. It is 27bhp more powerful and 50Nm torqueier than the India-spec model. In India, the SUV is powered by a BSVI compliant 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engine that offers two states of tunes – 174bhp/420Nm with manual gearbox and 174bhp/450Nm with automatic unit. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.

The Toyota Fortuner facelift is expected to be launched in the Indian market during festive season Diwali – October-November 2020. The new model is also likely to offer the Legender and the TRD Sportivo versions in our market. The company has already started testing the updated Fortuner model in India.
