Jaguar Land Rover India today rolled out the new Range Rover Velar in the country. The updated SUV model lineup is available in a single variant – R-Dynamic S – packed with petrol and diesel engines. While its petrol version has been priced at Rs 79.87 lakh, the diesel model costs Rs 80.71 lakh (all, ex-showroom). For power, the 2021 Range Rover Velar petrol uses the same 2.0L, 4-cylinder Ingenium unit that’s good enough for 250bhp and 365Nm. The diesel version comes equipped with 2.0L Ingenium motor pushing out power worth 204bhp and 430Nm of torque.
Both engines can be had with a ZF-sourced 8-speed automatic gearbox and AWD (all-wheel drive) system. The oil burner is claimed to accelerate 0 to 100kmph in 8.20 seconds and attain a maximum speed of 210kmph. The gasoline unit is capable to achieve 100kph from standstill in 7.50 seconds, while maintaining a top speed of 217kmph. The SUV’s maximum wading depth stands at 530mm/580mm.
The 2021 Range Rover Velar has received four major feature upgrades including a 3D surround camera, cabin air ionization with PM2.5 filter, electronic air suspension system and new Pivi Pro infotainment system. Most of the features are carried forward from the previous model including a larger 12.5-inch full digital instrument cluster, two analogues dials with a 5-inch TFT screen, leather upholstery, 20-way power adjustable seats with heating and cooling feature, laser spotlights, hill decent control, terrain response 2 (optional) and many more.
