2021 Nissan Micra Facelift Unveiled- What Has Changed?

Nissan has revealed the facelifted version of the Micra hatchback for the European markets. The hatchback will be launched in Europe in the next few days and will cost £13,995 (approximately Rs 13.77 lakh). Nissan has also introduced the all-new N-Design and welcomes the customer-favourite N-Sport into the grade line-up.

The 2021 Nissan Micra facelift comes with two different colour customisation finishers from front to the rear. The LED headlamps are now standard with the Micra. New 16-inch 2-tone wheels called “Genki” come as standard on both N-Design and Tekna grades.

N-Sport – A Sporty Variant

The 2021 Nissan Micra gets a new N-Sport variant, which comes with aggressive design elements. It gets gloss black front, rear and side finishers and new black mirror caps. This variant rides on 17-inch black Perso alloy wheels. On the N-Sport, the Micra’s fog lamps and headlamps come in full LED as standard.

Inside the cabin, the N-Sport variant gets premium upholstery. The seats with Alcantara® inserts and corresponding dashboard give a high-quality finish. Nissan claims that “the seats are ergonomically designed to provide superior support and reduce driver fatigue for those longer journeys”.

N-Design – For customisation

Customers can choose to personalise the rear, front and side finishers and mirror caps in either Gloss black or Chrome. This customisation comes as standard for the grade, as does the attractive new 16-inch 2-tone Genki wheels. Inside the cabin, the N-Design offers black cloth seats with grey accents and a leather-look front panel, kneepads and door trimming. Customers can also opt for Orange interior.

Tekna with advanced driving technology

It comes with advanced driving and in-car entertainment technology features. It features Intelligent Around View Monitor camera system with moving object detection and Blind Spot Warning. This variant also gets Bose Personal audio, NissanConnect infotainment system with TomTom navigation, Apple CarPlay with Siri voice recognition and Android Auto with Google Assistant.

Euro 6D engine

It is powered by an improved 1.0-litre turbocharged engine, which is compliant with the Euro 6d emissions standard. This engine is claimed to offer improved fuel efficiency and reduced emissions. Nissan claims that “Enhanced torque delivery curve offers greater driving performance with fewer gear changes, perfect for navigating cities and enabling a smoother, more responsive and more enjoyable drive.”

Safety & Security

The new Micra comes equipped with safety features like Hill Start Assistance, Intelligent Ride Control, and Intelligent Trace control for improved handling in difficult conditions. The premium hatchback also gets high beam assist, intelligent lane intervention, traffic sign recognition and intelligent forward emergency braking with pedestrian recognition.
