Honda Civic 2022 Prototype Unveiled – Changes Explained

First introduced in Japan in 1972, the Honda Civic name will turn 50 years old in 2022. The company is now readying the next-gen Civic sedan, which is scheduled to be introduced in 2021. The company has unveiled the concept version of the Honda Civic 2022. The prototype reveals that the new model will have all-new exterior and interior, better technology, and more safety features along with new colour options.

Exterior Changes

2022 Honda Civic Specs

The Honda Civic 2022 comes with all-new design, which seems less aggressive than the outgoing model. The sedan prototype has all-new front fascia, featuring a more pronounced grille and sharper headlamps with LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps). The design seems relatively simple; however, the new Civic looks bigger and bolder in terms of presence. Like the 10th generation model, the new sedan has less aggressive side creases, a sloping creased C-pillar and striking detailing.

Honda claims that the new design will make the new Civic lower and wider than before; however, the prototype dimensions are identical to its predecessor. At the back, the Honda Civic 2022 prototype has larger spilt tail-lamps. There is a “trailing edge” spoiler that gives the new model more aggressive profile, which also improves the aerodynamics. The vehicle also gets dual exhaust tips, which add to its sporty character. The sedan is finished in Solar Flare Pearl Colour. It rides on 19-inch black alloys.
